Program

Objectives

The purpose of the course is to provide students with complementary training in experimental methods related to chemical engineering.

The lectures review basic principles of chemical processes, and the work in the laboratory illustrates the application of these principles.

The course involves informal lectures, experimental work, and visits to industrial plants.

The lectures will cover not only the basic aspects of the experiments, but also issues such as laboratory safety and hygiene, and report writting.

Student evaluation will be based on performance in the laboratory and the individual reports for the various experiments. In addition, brief memoranda will be required for the industrial visits. Attitude and profesionalism will also be considered.

Course evaluation

The students will be asked to fill an internal form concerning the quality of the course (organization, methods, teaching, etc.).
